1 dead, 7 injured in accident involving funeral procession in Morgan Park

A man died after being involved in a motor vehicle accident in the Morgan Park neighborhood today in which seven others were injured, including 2 children, officials said.

The accident happened on the 10900 block of South Vincennes Avenue at about 12:37 p.m., according to police and fire officials.

A 36-year-old man was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ medical center at 1:56 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Officials said the accident involved two vehicles and that one of the vehicles was involved in a funeral procession at the time, according to preliminary information.
