    I think what needs to be stressed is that, scientifically, it is impossible to prove a negative. For example, I heard a listener's rebuttal to the announcers comment that the prosecution could not prove that this was a case based in racial bias. The listener's rebuttal was, "But we can't prove that it's NOT." Trying to prove that ANYTHING doesn't exist or is not the case is virtually impossible. Only a POSITIVE can be proven. Another example is the argument whether a deity exists or not. If one does exist, it can only be proven that one DOES exist, not that one DOESN'T exist. The public really needs to be educated on this very important fact.
