Free Sunday parking in Chicago neigborhoods as part of meter deal

There’s a deal in the city’s parking meter dispute involving tens of millions of dollars in lost  revenue for the company that operates the meters. Free Sunday parking at metered spots in neighborhoods is part of that agreement.

Mayor Emanuel’s been battling Chicago Parking Meters LLC over bills the company has sent the city as part of the lease negotiated by former Mayor Richard Daley.

Emanuel says the city will pay a lot less than the 61-million dollars the meter company demanded. No word on exactly how much.  Click here for more on this story from the Chicago Tribune.
