A bogus tweet from the AP’s Twitter account sent stocks plunging this afternoon, though they quickly recovered when the AP confirmed their account had been hacked.  The tweet, reporting explosions at the White House and injuries to President Obama, was quickly retracted by AP and their account was almost immediately suspended.  A statement on the another AP Twitter account said “The (at)AP twitter account has been hacked. A tweet about an attack at the White House is false. We will advise on acct. status.”
