Pets get the same cancers we do, and when we are diagnosed pets can help us to recover. There are many links between our pets and our health. Ovarian Cancer Symptom Awareness (OCSA) and the One Health Initiative (veterinarians, medical doctors, public health officials, etc) have partnered to spread the word on cancer awareness and prevention in people and pets.
Dr. Roger Mahr, past president of the American Veterinary Medical Association, helped to launch the international One Health non-profit, and Vallie Szymanski, executive director of OCSA) both talk about the many links between people and their pets, as well as the world of wild animals and food producing animals. The conversation is a fascinating one – a very special Petcast.
