Drew Peterson sentenced to 38 years in prison in the death of Kathleen Savio.
Prior to the sentence being handed down, Peterson’s request for a new trial was denied. After the presentation of victim impact statements, Petersen spoke for over 30 minutes, shouting “I did not kill Kathleen!” and discussing topics ranging from hearsay evidence, the autopsy findings, his own personality, and even the Lifetime movie made about the case.
Peterson will get credit for nearly four years already served.
