Suspect in custody at Illinois State University

The Illinois State University website is reporting that a person suspected to be carrying a weapon was taken into custody this afternoon. The individual was spotted earlier near Watterson Towers. Those on campus had been advised to seek shelter, but those restrictions have been lifted.

The Illinois State University Police have the suspect in custody. The emergency situation has ended.
Residence hall and dining center restrictions have been lifted. All campus operations will continue as scheduled.

Person with weapon last seen near Watterson Towers. Be alert, do NOT approach, and seek shelter. Suspect is a Nathan Thomas, described as a black male, approximately 6 feet 1 inch tall with dreadlocks. Last seen wearing a white hat, a black coat with red and black stripes on the waist and wrists, and baggy pants.
