INCLUDING THE CITIES OF…WOODSTOCK…WAUKEGAN

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHICAGO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM
WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW…WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL
MIDNIGHT CST TONIGHT. THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NO LONGER IN
EFFECT.

* TIMING…PERIODS OF SNOW WILL CONTINUE…HEAVY AT TIMES…ACROSS
THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON AND INTO THE EVENING…BEFORE TAPERING
OFF. THIS WILL HAVE A LARGE IMPACT ON THE EVENING RUSH.

* ACCUMULATION…SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES ARE LIKELY WITH
SOME ISOLATED HIGHER AMOUNTS.

* MAIN IMPACT…THE SNOW WILL FALL AT RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER
HOUR AT TIMES THIS AFTERNOON. THIS WILL RESULT IN REDUCED
VISIBILITIES UNDER A HALF MILE AND RAPID ACCUMULATION OF SNOW ON
AREA ROADS…MAKING TRAVEL HAZARDOUS.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF
SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN
AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL…KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT…
FOOD…AND WATER IN YOUR VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.
