I only caught a small sliver of your discussion that was apparently trying to discount climate change by citing to reported increases in Antarctic ice, which skeptics point to as running counter to global warming. Here's a link http://www.skepticalscience.com/antarctica-gainin… which I think explains why this question of Antarctic ice is not the stake in the heart of the climate change argument that skeptics would like to suggest.
As I said, I only heard a sliver of the show. But I hope you gave an opportunity for someone knowledgeable to respond to what would appear to have been misinformation on an important topic.

For a more honest and unbiased look at this subject by a weather professional:
A link to site run by Jeffrey Masters, Ph.D. in Meteorology from the University of Michigan ( His web site was rceently bought by the "Weather Channel "):

There are other links on that page that lead to others discussing the subject.
How can WGN keep Mike McConnell on the air. He displays, 90% of the time, that he is not very bright and this subject was just another chance for him to showcase of this sad fact.

i thin Mike is a great asset to wgn and love the show. co2 which they claim is a green house gas, is only 1/10 of 1 % of what make up our air. People will belive any thing they here because they chose not to listen.

You seem to be one of these people that think"if you don't agree with me you can't possibly be intelligent." I think Mike is smart even when I don't agree with him, which I usually do. Kepp up the good work Mike!

"Displays 90% of the time that he is not very bright"? Just because you don't agree with him doesn't mean he's not bright. In fact I find him to be very bright and fair. It's people like his guest that make people think. I understand not liking his approach. I don't like Brandmeier but I don't automatically call him "not very bright". Your credibility disappears completely with comments like the one you made.

Mike is a terrific radio host and a bright intellect with interest in a broad range of subjects. His approach is not hardline left or right, which of course annoys zealots on both sides. Being a zealot it uphill sledding when opposing facts seem to dispute firmly held beliefs.
If WGN wants to cull the payroll, dump Brandmeier, who depends on seventh grade humor to fill his time slot.
