Bill Cullerton Sr., host of WGN Radio’s Great Outdoors program from 1979 to 1999, passed away Saturday at age 89.
Cullerton was a World War II flying ace who survived being shot down, captured, shot and left for dead behind enemy lines. He would later go on to become a major authority in the fishing and outdoors world, including his work at WGN.
