Leslie Keiling is a lifelong resident of the Chicago area, born and raised in the Lincoln Square neighborhood on the city’s North Side. She attended Columbia College, and by her sophomore year began working for the fledgling Shadow Traffic Network.
By the time she graduated college, Leslie was reporting traffic on radio powerhouse WLS. In the morning, she flew in a helicopter reporting traffic for the Larry Lujack Show. Afternoons she’d be back on the ground reporting traffic for radio bad boys, Steve Dahl and Garry Meier.
In the following years she was also lucky enough to work with any number of other radio legends, including Jonathon Brandmeier, Buzz Killman, Bruce Wolf, Eddie Schwartz, Clark Webber, Herb Kent, and Morton Downey Jr. just to name a few. In 2001, she paired up with another Chicago icon, John Landecker on his WJMK morning show. She now calls the one and only WGN Radio home.
Aside from radio, Leslie has also worked as writer, penning a bi-monthly commuter information column for the Chicago Sun-Times during the mid-90′s.
Leslie lives in the western suburbs with her husband Tim, is the proud mother of daughter Allyson, and guardian to a handful of pets. She has a HUGE extended family; an eclectic bunch ranging from ranchers to racers, carpenters to clergy. A left-handed Pisces, Leslie is a mediocre golfer, voracious reader, avid walker, bumbling gardener, pop culture aficionado, empathetic weeper, hearty eater, rabid news junkie, competent poker-player, compulsive cleaner, and eternal optimist.
