Andrea Darlas is an award-winning Radio and Television News Anchor/Reporter at WGN Radio and WGN-TV. She’s currently the morning news anchor on WGN Radio, weekend reporter on WGN-TV, and a reporter/contributor to the nationally-syndicated TV show “House Smarts” with Lou Manfredini. During her 16-year tenure at WGN, Andrea has won a multitude of awards — including 2 prestigious Peter Lisagor Awards — for anchoring, reporting, breaking news coverage, and investigative series reports. Andrea has also won the Illinois Broadcasters’ Association Silver Dome Award for “Best Newscast” five out of the last seven years. Andrea was previously the News Director and Morning Anchor at WJOL-AM and WLLI-FM in Joliet, IL. Prior to that, she was a Reporter at WDWS-AM and WLRW-FM in Champaign, IL. A native Chicagoan and proud graduate of the University of Illinois, Andrea got her start in radio as a DJ at then-classic rock college station, WPGU-FM. Andrea is a die-hard Cubs, Blackhawks, and Illini fan. She’s involved with a variety of charities including the Crisis Center for South Suburbia, the Greater Chicago Arthritis Foundation, and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. In her spare time, Andrea enjoys playing golf and travelling the globe.
