Steve Bertrand


Steve Bertrand is the morning anchor on WGN Radio, working with Bill Leff, Jonathon Brandmeier and Mike McConnell.

For more than 25 years, he has been a mainstay on WGN, anchoring with everyone from Wally Philips to Spike O’Dell to Kathy and Judy. He has won several awards, including multiple Lisagor awards from the Chicago Headline Club.

He is a graduate of Marquette University and was named the School of Communications “Communicator of the Year” in 2012.

Steve has gained a national reputation for interviewing the country’s top authors and has been featured on ABC’s Nightline. Currently, his interviews can be seen on Facebook at Steve Bertrand on Books.

He lives in the northern suburbs with his wife and their two children.

    You need to get those in sports that follow you to keep up with announcements that the Golden Eagles are playing.

    Steve Bertrand lost ALL credibility as a news commentator this A.M. commenting on the large number of rounds fired @ the Boston suspect(s) by the police….From the warmth of a studio in CHICAGO, w/ no knowledge of the situation, circumstances, etc. no such comment should have been issued….
